1. Introduction
TickLearn (“TickLearn”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an online learning platform operated by Albakio. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, web application and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service — including signing in with Google or Facebook — you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a) Information you provide to us
- Account details: your full name, email address and password (passwords are stored only in a securely hashed form — we never store them in plain text).
- Profile details: phone number, date of birth, gender, grade, school name, roll number and profile photo, where you choose to provide them.
b) Information from Google & Facebook sign-in
If you sign up or log in using Google or Facebook, we receive your basic public profile from that provider — your name, email address and profile picture. We use this information only to create and operate your TickLearn account. We do not post anything to your social accounts and do not access your contacts, posts or friends.
c) Learning & usage data
- Your activity on the Service: quiz attempts and scores, video watch progress, notes you open, bookmarks and assigned tasks.
- For students enrolled through a school: attendance records and progress reports made available to your principal and teachers.
d) Payment information
When a subscription is purchased, we record transaction details such as the plan, amount and status. Card/payment-instrument details are handled by our payment processors and are not stored on our servers.
e) Technical data
Limited technical information needed to run the Service securely, such as your IP address (used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention) and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create your account and authenticate you.
- To provide and personalise the learning experience — showing your courses, quizzes, progress and recommendations.
- To enable schools, principals and teachers to manage their own students and view their progress and attendance.
- To process subscriptions and keep billing records.
- To communicate with you — for example verification codes, password resets, and important account or service notices.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies and Sessions
We use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you securely signed in while you use the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Clearing this cookie or signing out will end your session.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
- Within your school: if your account belongs to a school, your principal and assigned teachers can see your profile, progress, quiz results and attendance for educational purposes.
- Service providers: trusted vendors who help us operate the Service (for example hosting, email delivery and payment processing), bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal reasons: where required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Service.
6. Social Login (Google & Facebook)
We offer sign-in with Google and Facebook for your convenience. When you use these options:
- We receive only your name, email address and profile picture from the provider.
- Because Facebook does not confirm whether an email is verified, we send a one-time verification code to your email address to confirm it belongs to you before completing sign-in.
- Your social profile picture is downloaded and stored on our own servers so it continues to display reliably; we do not retain access to your social account.
You can disconnect TickLearn at any time from your Google Account settings (Google permissions) or your Facebook settings (Facebook apps and websites).
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain certain records (such as billing history) where required for legitimate business or legal purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including hashed passwords, signed and version-controlled session tokens, role-based access controls, and restricted access to stored files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and respond promptly to any incident.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & update: you can view and edit your profile information from the Settings / Edit Info screen at any time.
- Change password: available from your account settings.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and personal data (see the next section).
10. How to Delete Your Data or Account
You can request deletion of your TickLearn account and the personal data associated with it at any time. To do so, email us at contact@albakio.com.pk from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account Deletion Request”.
We will verify your request and delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for legal or accounting purposes. If your account was created and is managed by a school, we may direct the request to your school administrator who controls that account.
11. Children's Privacy
TickLearn is an educational platform used by school students, some of whom may be minors. Student accounts are generally created and supervised by a school, principal or teacher, or by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for providing the appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without proper consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
